A low glycemic diet is one that does not raise your blood sugar and insulin levels. Foods high in carbohydrates cause a release of glucose into the bloodstream and a corresponding rise in insulin. High-carbohydrate foods should be avoided. The following diet minimizes the high blood sugar spikes.
